Swim School Staff


We realize the quality of our programs depends on the quality of our instructors. For this reason, our instructors are chosen based on their qualifications, communication skills, patience, and love for children. Our structured training program ensures that each student receives the finest hands-on instruction available. Regardless of their age or skill level, students will discover that continuous interaction with our warm and caring instructors develops trust and stability both in and out of the water. We are pleased to give our swimmers a qualified team of experienced, mature professionals who are devoted to making a positive impact on their students.

Abiel

Abiel learned how to swim at a young age, and continues to enjoy swimming recreationally. He gained experience working with children through volunteering at his church’s childcare program, where he worked with children ages five through ten. His favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is making sure his students have fun while learning a lifelong skill. A fun fact about Abiel is that he was the fastest sprinter at his school!

Adriana learned how to swim when she was four years old and has loved the water ever since. She gained experience working with children through volunteering at her library, tutoring children, and working as a teacher’s aide. Her favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is watching her students grow in their swim skills. Adriana is currently studying Education at San Jose City College. A fun fact about Adriana is that she loves to play soccer!

He has been swimming for about two years and Freestyle is his favorite stroke. Alejandro gained experience working with children ages 4 to 6 as a preschool volunteer. In addition, Alejandro has worked as a babysitter for children of all ages. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is interacting with his students and watching them build confidence in the water. Alejandro is currently studying Biology at De Anza College. A few of Alejandro’s hobbies include running, reading, swimming, and listening to music. An interesting fact about Alejandro is he has seen Avatar: The Last Air-Bender five times.

Ally gained experience working with children through raising her daughter and previously teaching swim lessons for students ages three through adult. She has a passion for teaching swimming lessons because she loves to watch her students learn a new life skill and become more confident in the water. A fun fact about Ally is that she loves Harry Potter!

She taught herself how to swim at the age of 10 and her favorite stroke is backstroke. Anabel helped raise her youngest sister and has been babysitting since the age of 14. Her favorite aspect of being a swim instructor is watching her students apply corrections to their stroke and succeed on their own. Anabel currently attends San Jose City College to major in English. In her free time she enjoys painting, dancing, and hiking. An interesting fact about Anabel is she likes goldfish!

Anthony is currently studying Music at Gavilan Community College. A fun fact about Anthony is that he loves to sing and play guitar!

Her favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is that her students are having fun while learning a new lifesaving skill. Britney is currently studying Fashion Design and Production at West Valley College. A fun fact about Britney is that she is a huge Disney fan!

She joins Waterworks Aquatics with 10 years of childcare experience from babysitting children as young as 6 months old. Her love for the water came at a young age after taking swimming lessons as a child. Caitlin’s favorite aspect of teaching swimming lessons is sharing the love she has for swimming and seeing her students overcome their fear of the water. Caitlin is attending West Valley College with a focus on Biology. During her free time, she enjoys playing roller hockey and video games. One interesting fact about Caitlin is that she always gives it her all no matter what the challenge may be.

She is a self-taught swimmer and has enjoyed swimming her whole life. Corina gained experience working with children as a mother of two. She also has experience working with children with special needs as her younger sister has special needs. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing her students excitement when they do a skill set correctly. Corina is currently studying at Silicon Valley Education Foundation. A few of Corina’s hobbies include spending time with her children, reading, practicing the guitar, and going to the gym.

Darcy learned how to swim when he was three years old and he received swim training for five years. He is scuba certified and uses his swim skills regularly to collect marine samples for biological research through the Hopkins Marine Center. Darcy spent over a year as a caregiver for a children’s residential home where he would assist children with autism with daily activities such as showering, eating, and playtime. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is motivating his students to achieve their goals. Darcy is currently studying Psychology at San Jose City College. A fun fact about Darcy is that he has over ten years of experience in musical theater production, and has been trained in both singing and acting.

DeAndre

He began swimming 7 years ago and passed his high school swim class at the Advanced level. For 3 years, DeAndre assisted his mom with her in-home daycare, working with children ages 1 – 12 years old. He also has gained childcare experience by babysitting his nieces and nephews. His favorite aspect of teaching swim lessons is knowing that he is able to help his students accomplish their goal. DeAndre attends DeAnza Community College to focus on becoming a Phlebotomy Technician. When DeAndre is not at work or school, he enjoys playing basketball and working out.

His love of working with children shows through his seven years of experience being a nanny. Diego is passionate about teaching swimming lessons because he enjoys not being only a swim instructor but a mentor and friend to his students. A fun fact about Diego is that he loves to make music!

She also gained experience working with children through being a teacher’s assistant for a kindergarten class, volunteering at after-school programs, and working at a children’s hospital. She is passionate about teaching swimming lessons because she loves her students different personalities and adapting the lessons to the needs of her students. A fun fact about Elizabeth is that she loves to scuba dive!

Enya learned how to swim when she was fourteen years old and her favorite stroke is Backstroke. She competed on both the swim team and water polo team in high school, where she rose to the varsity level because of her talent in Backstroke and Freestyle events. Enya gained experience working with children through being a teacher’s assistant at elementary schools. Her favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is passing on her love of the water to her students. Enya is currently studying Radio, Television, and Film at San Jose State University. A fun fact about Enya is that she loves the San Jose Sharks Hockey Team!

He swam competitively throughout high school and rose to team captain his senior year. His favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is helping his students grow a passion for the water and become strong swimmers. Erwin is currently studying Child Development at San Jose City College. A fun fact about Erwin is that he loves turtles and he owns four redneck turtles names Rocky, Shylow, Mikah, and Luna.

Some of his favorite events include the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, backstroke in the 200 medley relay, and he often was the anchor in the 200 freestyle relay. He gained childcare experience through babysitting children between the ages of 2 and 5. Francisco’s favorite part about teaching swim lessons is when the children begin to love swimming as much as he does. Francisco is currently studying Business Marketing at DeAnza College. When Francisco is not in the water he enjoys watching sports and anime, biking, and playing video games.

Gabriela is currently studying Child Development at Evergreen Valley College. A few of Gabriela’s hobbies include drawing, playing the guitar, skateboarding, and going on hikes.

She swam competitively for seven years, worked as a lifeguard for three years, and has taught swimming lessons for over two years. Jasmine gained experience working with children through babysitting, raising her son, and volunteering at her local elementary school. She is passionate about teaching swimming lessons because her students are having fun in lessons while simultaneously learning a valuable new life skill. Jasmine majored in Communications at Arizona State University. A fun fact about Jasmine is that she loves Disney movies, because her name is Jasmine, and her mom’s name is Cinderella!

Jatee has been babysitting for her family and neighbors since the age of 12 and helped tutor her peers starting at the age of nine. She has experience working with children with Autism, ADD, and ADHD. Jatee enjoys being a swim instructor because she is able to teach her students a fun, life-saving skill. In her free time Jatee loves to go biking, hiking, swimming, and running. An interesting fact about her is she believes in mermaids!

During his senior year of high school, Nestor volunteered as a teacher’s assistant and helped children with their homework and school projects. He enjoys teaching swimming lessons because he loves to watch his students’ growth in a new skill. Nestor currently attends De Anza College and is majoring in Industrial Engineering. A fun fact about Nestor is that he used to collect toy cars and foreign money!

She is passionate about teaching swimming lessons because she enjoys sharing her love of the water. A fun fact about Ragan is that her dream is to open up her own animal rescue!

Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is interacting with her students and seeing their excitement when they learn something new. A few of Samantha’s hobbies include singing and swimming. When she is not in the pool you can find Tynique in the dance studio!

Zach loves super-hero movies and his favorite is the Avengers!
