Swim School Staff


We realize the quality of our programs depends on the quality of our instructors. For this reason, our instructors are chosen based on their qualifications, communication skills, patience, and love for children. Our structured training program ensures that each student receives the finest hands-on instruction available. Regardless of their age or skill level, students will discover that continuous interaction with our warm and caring instructors develops trust and stability both in and out of the water. We are pleased to give our swimmers a qualified team of experienced, mature professionals who are devoted to making a positive impact on their students.

Abiel
Abiel

Abiel learned how to swim at a young age, and continues to enjoy swimming recreationally. He gained experience working with children through volunteering at his church’s childcare program, where he worked with children ages five through ten. His favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is making sure his students have fun while learning a lifelong skill. A fun fact about Abiel is that he was the fastest sprinter at his school!

He has been swimming for about two years and Freestyle is his favorite stroke. Alejandro gained experience working with children ages 4 to 6 as a preschool volunteer. In addition, Alejandro has worked as a babysitter for children of all ages. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is interacting with his students and watching them build confidence in the water. Alejandro is currently studying Biology at De Anza College. A few of Alejandro’s hobbies include running, reading, swimming, and listening to music. An interesting fact about Alejandro is he has seen Avatar: The Last Air-Bender five times.

Ally learned how to swim at a young age, and her favorite strokes are Backstroke and Butterfly. She swam competitively starting at the age of ten and continued throughout high school. Ally gained experience working with children through raising her daughter and previously teaching swim lessons for students ages three through adult. She has a passion for teaching swimming lessons because she loves to watch her students learn a new life skill and become more confident in the water. A fun fact about Ally is that she loves Harry Potter!

Anabel

She taught herself how to swim at the age of 10 and her favorite stroke is backstroke. Anabel helped raise her youngest sister and has been babysitting since the age of 14. Her favorite aspect of being a swim instructor is watching her students apply corrections to their stroke and succeed on their own. Anabel currently attends San Jose City College to major in English. In her free time she enjoys painting, dancing, and hiking. An interesting fact about Anabel is she likes goldfish!

She joins Waterworks Aquatics with 10 years of childcare experience from babysitting children as young as 6 months old. Her love for the water came at a young age after taking swimming lessons as a child. Caitlin’s favorite aspect of teaching swimming lessons is sharing the love she has for swimming and seeing her students overcome their fear of the water. Caitlin is attending West Valley College with a focus on Biology. During her free time, she enjoys playing roller hockey and video games. One interesting fact about Caitlin is that she always gives it her all no matter what the challenge may be.

She began swimming at the age of two in her grandparents backyard pool and joined her high school’s swim team during her freshman year. Casandra’s favorite stroke is freestyle. Her childcare experience stems from babysitting, which she started at the age of 14, and through tutoring children in math, reading, writing, and French. While tutoring, Casandra also gained experience working with children with ADD and ADHD. She has worked with children ages infant – 12 years old. Casandra’s favorite aspects of being a swim instructor are watching her students progress and gain confidence when they have accomplished a skill. Casandra is attending San Jose State University to focus on Kinesiology for Physical Therapy.A funny fact about her is she loves cartoons and superheroes- her favorite cartoon is Scooby-Doo and her favorite superhero is Captain America!

Corina

She is a self-taught swimmer and has enjoyed swimming her whole life. Corina gained experience working with children as a mother of two. She also has experience working with children with special needs as her younger sister has special needs. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing her students excitement when they do a skill set correctly. Corina is currently studying at Silicon Valley Education Foundation. A few of Corina’s hobbies include spending time with her children, reading, practicing the guitar, and going to the gym.

Daisy learned to swim when she was eleven, and she loves being in the water. She gained experience working with children through volunteering at an after-school program, raising her daughter, and taking care of younger relatives. Her favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is seeing the look of accomplishment on her students’ faces when they swim from one side of the pool to the other for the first time. A fun fact about Daisy is that she loves to do arts and crafts!

David competed on swim teams for five years, starting when he was 13. He swam all four years of high school and also competed on a local club team. His favorite events were the 100 Freestyle and relays. David has worked with children and adults of all ages and abilities, including special needs, as a swim instructor for eight years. He enjoys seeing his students excitement when they are able to accomplish a new skill and helping them overcome their fear of the water. David attends Evergreen College to major in Mechanical Engineering. Some of his hobbies include cars, skateboarding, and playing music. An interesting fact about David is he loves to watch cartoons!

He began swimming 7 years ago and passed his high school swim class at the Advanced level. For 3 years, De’Andre assisted his mom with her in-home daycare, working with children ages 1 – 12 years old. He also has gained childcare experience by babysitting his nieces and nephews. His favorite aspect of teaching swim lessons is knowing that he is able to help his students accomplish their goal. De’Andre attends DeAnza Community College to focus on becoming a Phlebotomy Technician. When De’Andre is not at work or school, he enjoys playing basketball and working out.

Demorise has enjoyed swimming throughout her life. She gained experience working with children with special needs ages 4 to 8 as a caregiver. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing the joy on her student’s face as when they learn a new skill. Demorise loves to go to the park with her baby and she loves to be silly and funny.

He began swimming at age 15 and swam competitively throughout high school. Some of his favorite events include the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, backstroke in the 200 medley relay, and he often was the anchor in the 200 freestyle relay. He gained childcare experience through babysitting children between the ages of 2 and 5. Francisco’s favorite part about teaching swim lessons is when the children begin to love swimming as much as he does. Francisco is currently studying Business Marketing at DeAnza College. When Francisco is not in the water he enjoys watching sports and anime, biking, and playing video games.

She started swimming at age 5 and has continued swimming ever since. Gabriela gained experience working with children through teaching her younger cousin and sister how to swim. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is the feeling of joy her students receive when they accomplish their goals. Gabriela is currently studying Child Development at Evergreen Valley College. A few of Gabriela’s hobbies include drawing, playing the guitar, skateboarding, and going on hikes.

He learned how to swim at the age of 10 and has enjoyed swimming ever since. Hector gained experience working with children of all ages as a babysitter and a new father. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing the level of excitement his students display when they learn a new skill and can execute that skill on their own. Hector is currently studying Criminal Justice at San Jose City College. A few of Hector’s hobbies include baseball, cycling, and outdoor activities.

She first learned to swim at age 4 and she has enjoyed swimming ever since. Jacqueline gained experience working with children of all ages as a Lifeguard at Raging Waters. In addition, Jacqueline has worked as a teacher’s aid and a babysitter. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is creating a bond with her students in the water and watching as they progress.

He began swimming at age 5 and he competed on the swim team in high school. His favorite stroke is the Backstroke. James gained experience working with children of all ages as a coach and babysitter. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing his students develop and improve their swimming skills. James is currently studying Marine Biology at Miami Dade College. A few of James hobbies include basketball, going to the beach, and playing video games.

Jatee taught herself how to swim at the age of six. She joined the swim team in high school and was the only female swimmer. Jatee has been babysitting for her family and neighbors since the age of 12 and helped tutor her peers starting at the age of nine. She has experience working with children with Autism, ADD, and ADHD. Jatee enjoys being a swim instructor because she is able to teach her students a fun, life-saving skill. In her free time Jatee loves to go biking, hiking, swimming, and running. An interesting fact about her is she believes in mermaids!

Jessica began swimming at age 3 and her favorite strokes are breaststroke and backstroke. She gained experience working with children ages 1 to 10 years old as a babysitter. In addition, she has taught swim lessons to children ages 6 weeks to adults, including children with special needs. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing her students’ excitement when they achieve their goals and helping them to learn a lifesaving skill. A few of Jessica’s hobbies include cooking, hiking, and writing. An interesting fact about Jessica is she has seen every Disney and Pixar movie.

Jherris began swimming recreationally about 14 years ago and his favorite stroke is Breaststroke. He has previous experience working with children ages 8-12 as a cheer coach, where he taught his students about responsibility and perseverance. He is excited to pass on his swimming knowledge to his students and help them progress their skills in the water. In his free time, Jherris enjoys hiking, going to the gym, and playing sports. An interesting fact about Jherris is he is a professional cheerleader!

She began swimming at a young age and she competed on her high school swim team for two years. Her favorite strokes were backstroke and butterfly. Jocelyn gained experience working with children of all ages as a babysitter. In addition Jocelyn volunteered at San Jose’s Family Housing where she gained experience working with children with special needs as a summer camp counselor. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is helping her students reach their goals. Jocelyn is currently studying Psychology at De Anza Community College. A few of Jocelyn’s hobbies include yoga and snowboarding. An interesting fact about Jocelyn is she was born with so much hair that she had to get a haircut during her second week of being born.

Jose gained experience working with children as an international volunteer, helping special needs children in Jamaica. He loves teaching his students a new, invaluable skill that will last them a lifetime. Jose is currently studying Psychology at San Jose State University. An interesting fact about Jose is that he loves soccer!

Juan learned how to swim when he was ten years old and was an active member in the swim club when he was in the Marine Corps. His favorite stroke is the backstroke. Juan has worked with children of all ages for the last 6 years as a coach for soccer, tee-ball, and baseball. Juan is passionate about teaching swim lessons and passing on his knowledge to his students. He currently attends West Valley College and studies Meteorology. A fun fact about Juan is that he has a twin!

He first learned to swim at a young age and began swimming competitively at age 7. He swam throughout high school and his favorite events were the 200 yard Individual Medley, 100 yard Butterfly and the 100 yard breaststroke. Kyle gained experience working with children ages 8 and under as the assistant coach for a swim club. He also has a 2 year old niece and a 6 month old nephew that he has worked with in the pool. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing his students gain confidence in the water. Kyle is currently studying Marine Biology at Cabrillo College. A few of Kyle’s hobbies include scuba diving, swimming, fishing, camping, dirt biking, and enjoying the outdoors. An interesting fact about Kyle is he loves to make whirlpools in the water.

Leslie learned how to swim at seven years old, and fell in love with it! She gained experience working with children, ages one through twelve, as a babysitter and camp counselor. She loves teaching swimming lessons because of the fun interactions with her students. Leslie is currently attending Evergreen Valley College and majoring in Political Science. A fun fact about Leslie is that she has two golden retrievers who love to swim with her!

She learned how to swim at age 4 and has been swimming ever since. Makala previously competed on the USA Swim Team, as well as her high school swim team. Makala gained experience with children ages 3 months to 13 years while working as an assistant at her mother’s day care center. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is interacting with her students and seeing them progress. Makala is currently studying Sociology at Foothill Community College. A few of Makala’s hobbies include playing field hockey and watching Scooby Doo.

An interesting fact about Mario is that he has been playing guitar for 11 years!

His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is working with his students and adapting to their individual personalities. Matt is currently studying Physical Therapy at West Valley College. Miranda began swimming as an infant and began swimming competitively at age 10. She continued to swim competitively throughout middle school and high school where she placed with Junior Olympic times in almost every event she competed in. Her favorite strokes were the Backstroke and Butterfly. Miranda gained experience working with children of all ages as a swim instructor. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is having the opportunity to pass along her knowledge of a sport that she is passionate about to her students. A few of Miranda’s hobbies include snowboarding, dirt biking, and swimming. An interesting fact about Miranda is she grew up on the beach and it is her favorite place to spend her time.

He began swimming competitively at the age of fourteen, and his favorite events are the 50 meter and 100 meter freestyle. During his senior year of high school, Nestor volunteered as a teacher’s assistant and helped children with their homework and school projects. He enjoys teaching swimming lessons because he loves to watch his students’ growth in a new skill. Nestor currently attends De Anza College and is majoring in Industrial Engineering. A fun fact about Nestor is that he used to collect toy cars and foreign money!

Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is interacting with her students and seeing their excitement when they learn something new. A few of Samantha’s hobbies include singing and swimming. An interesting fact about Samantha is she is currently studying American Sign Language.

A fun fact about Sophia is that she is a HUGE Disney fan, especially the movies with the Disney princesses.

Toni is currently studying Forensic Science at De Anza College. A few of Toni’s hobbies include riding her bike, going on hikes, and playing with her puppy. A few of Yudeli’s hobbies include reading, playing video games, and making art. An interesting fact about Yudeli is her favorite movies are Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid.

He began swimming when he was six months old and has swam recreationally ever since. His favorite stroke is Breaststroke. Zach gained experience working with children through babysitting his nephews. He enjoys making connections with his students and being able to work with them one-on-one. Zach attends West Valley College to focus on becoming a Firefighter! Zach loves super-hero movies and his favorite is the Avengers!
