New Carlsbad Instructors

Waterworks Aquatics would like to welcome our new Carlsbad instructors – Maddie, Kaden & Kela!

To find out more about their swimming background and experience working with children, please read below:

Maddie

Maddie began taking lessons at the young age of three and has loved swimming ever since. She has been here with us at Waterworks long before her swimming instructor days. Maddie was actually part of our in house swim team here at Waterworks Aquatics when she was younger and would compete in our monthly swim competitions. Some of her favorite strokes include Breaststroke and Freestyle. Maddie has worked with children of all ages through babysitting. Her favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to see how confident her students get as they come in week after week for their lessons and making sure they are still having fun while learning new things. Some of Maddie’s hobbies include soccer, swimming, and exploring her creative side.

Kaden

Kaden learned how to swim at the age of six when he began taking lessons. His favorite stroke is Freestyle. Kaden has worked with children of all ages and gained most of his experience while working for Summer Splash Camp. He would oversee 20-25 children daily and he would plan different activities and games for the children and made sure they stayed safe. His favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to help his students feel safe and comfortable in the water. Some of Kaden’s hobbies include hiking, riding dirt bikes and going to the beach.

Kela

Kela began swimming at the young age of three and her favorite stroke is Butterfly. She has gained much of her experience working with children as young as newborns to nine years of age through babysitting and volunteering at a child care center. Her favorite part about teaching is build connections with her students and helping them set goals for themselves and being able to help them achieve their goals. Kela is currently attending Palomar College where she is working towards her AA in Nursing. Some of her hobbies include spending time with her family, going to Disneyland, playing with her dogs and exercising
