Swim School Staff

We realize the quality of our programs depends on the quality of our instructors. For this reason, our instructors are chosen based on their qualifications, communication skills, patience, and love for children. Our structured training program ensures that each student receives the finest hands-on instruction available. Regardless of their age or skill level, students will discover that continuous interaction with our warm and caring instructors develops trust and stability both in and out of the water. We are pleased to give our swimmers a qualified team of experienced, mature professionals who are devoted to making a positive impact on their students.

Aaron L.

Pasadena

Aaron began swimming at the age of nine. He played water polo for three years in high school, including one year as Team Captain and two years as MVP. He swam competitively all three years as well, earning MVP one year. Aaron has previous experience as a swim instructor, working with children ages 3-16 for one summer. He also volunteered as a summer and winter camp counselor for four years. Aaron is excited to share his passion for swimming, and help his students grow and become strong swimmers. He currently attends the University of Phoenix to study Business. When he is not at work, Aaron enjoys playing water polo and being outdoors!

Alex (Alexandra)

San Diego

She started swimming at the age of 9. She swam for club teams for 7 years, and she eventually swam for her high school’s swim team. Her favorite events are the 200 yard Individual Medley and her favorite stroke is the butterfly. Alex gained experience working with children as a lifeguard at Knott’s Soak City for 2 seasons. Alex is currently studying Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations at Cal State University of Los Angeles. When Alex is not in the water she enjoys dancing, playing the guitar, and hiking. An interesting fact about Alex is she can hold her breath underwater for two 25 meter laps.

Aly

Monrovia

Aly learned how to swim when she was five years old and began swimming competitively at age eight. She swam for her high school’s varsity swim team for four years, and worked previously as a lifeguard at Waterworks Aquatics. Aly gained childcare experience by babysitting, teaching karate, and tutoring. She also has experience assisting her swim instructor in teaching students the different strokes. Aly is currently studying Animal Science and Animal Training at Citrus Community College. When she is not in the water she enjoys listening to music, reading, hiking, and watching Disney movies.

Angel

Los Angeles

Angel learned how to swim at the age of eight, and loves spending time in the water. He joined the water polo and swim teams his senior year of high school. His first year on the swim team Angel was awarded Team Captain and his relay team made it to the city finals! Angel gained experience working with children previously as a lifeguard and a swim instructor, where he taught children ages three through six how to swim. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is seeing smiles on his students’ faces when they master a new technique. Angel is currently studying Kinesiology with focus on Exercise and Human Performance at California State University of Los Angeles. A fun fact about Angel is that he was the second fastest swimmer on his swim team!

Anthony

Eagle Rock

He started swimming at age 4 and began swimming competitively at age 9. Anthony gained experience working with children of all ages as a summer camp leader and a babysitter. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is being able to teach his students a lifelong skill. Anthony is currently studying Business at Glendale Community College. A few of Anthony’s hobbies include running, hiking, and watching sports.

Briana

Pasadena

She started swimming at 2 years old and swam competitively until the age of 13. Her favorite stroke is the Freestyle. Briana gained experience working with children ages 3 months to 12 years old as a babysitter. In addition, Briana worked with children ages 3 to 10 years old as a leader at a Spanish camp. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is helping her students improve and getting to know her students. Briana is currently studying Public Health at California State University of Northridge. A few of Briana’s hobbies include volunteering, dancing, and playing basketball.

Cat

Whittier

Cat began swimming at age 7 and swam competitively on her high school swim team for four years. Her favorite event was the 400 yard Freestyle relay. Cat gained experience working with children as a swim teacher. Her favorite part of teaching swim lessons is seeing her students’ get excited when they learn something new. Cat is currently studying Criminal Justice at Pasadena City College. A few of Cat’s hobbies include spending time with friends, trying new foods, and going to concerts.

Carlo

Monrovia

Carlo began swimming at the age of five and his favorite stroke is Breaststroke. He swam on his high school swim team, where he excelled at the 200 Yard Relay. Carlo gained experience working with children as a soccer coach and as a babysitter for children ages six months to fourteen. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing his students’ progress in the water. He is studying Architecture and Psychology at Pasadena Community College. In his free time, Carlo enjoys reading and exercising.

Daizsa

Clovis

She first learned to swim at a young age and she competed on the swim team and water polo team throughout high school and college. Daizsa gained experience working with children of all ages as a water polo and softball coach. In addition, she has worked as a teacher’s aid. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is watching her students accomplish their goals. Daizsa is currently studying Child Development at Pasadena City College. A few of Daizsa’s hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing, going to the beach, and going to Disneyland.

Daniela

Venezuela

Daniela’s father taught her how to swim when she was seven years old. She loves working with children and gained experience through babysitting. The thing Daniela loves most about teaching her students is seeing them develop their skills in the water over time. When Daniela is not in the pool she loves to spend time with her friends and her dog.

Danny

Monrovia

Danny began swimming at age 8. He competed on the swim team and water polo teams throughout high school. His favorite strokes are Backstroke and Butterfly. Danny gained experience working with children under the age of 4 as a babysitter. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing his students smiling and having fun in the water. An interesting fact about Danny is he loves to go traveling and exploring.

Deanna

El Monte

Deanna learned how to swim at the age of six, when her family began teaching her. She has gained most of experience working with children through babysitting. She worked as a personal nanny for children ranging in ages from four through twelve. Her favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to help her students achieve their goals and most of all to get them water safe. Some Deanna’s hobbies include hiking and reading.

Erin

Sierra Madre

Erin learned how to swim at the age of three. She swam for the Sierra Madre Dolphins for three years while in elementary school. In middle school, she competed on the Waterworks Aquatics swim team for two years. She is now in high school and is currently swimming on Pasadena High School’s varsity swim team. One of her favorite strokes is Backstroke and one of her favorite events is the 100 yard Backstroke. What she enjoys most about teaching swimming lessons is being able to share her love of swimming with her students. Erin has worked with children all ages, she started off as a babysitter and soon began volunteering as a Teaching Assistant at Walnut High School. Her hobbies include listening to music, reading, playing water polo and swimming.

 

Fatima

Glendale

Fatima began swimming at the age of seven and has been swimming ever since. She began swimming at the YMCA and later joined her high school swim team as well as the water polo team. She also was on the water polo team over at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. Her favorite stroke is Backstroke and her favorite event is the 200m Freestyle. Her favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is seeing the enthusiasm on her student’s faces as well as seeing them grow and advance to the next levels. Fatima has worked with children ranging in ages from seven through twelve. She gained most of her experience through babysitting and tutoring children in math. She is currently attending Glendale Community College and is studying Nursing. Some of her hobbies include hiking and cooking.

Gabby

Alhambra

Gabby began swimming at the young age of two when her parents began teaching her how to swim. One of her favorite strokes is Freestyle. Gabby has worked with children of all ages through babysitting and being a teacher’s assistant during the summer which included helping out the 2nd grade children with their English and Math. Gabby is currently a robotics programming teacher to the 4th, 5th and 6th graders in Lincoln Heights. Her favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is being able to see the joy on her student’s faces when they accomplish their goals. Gabby is currently attending Mount St. Mary’s and studying Computer Science. Some of her hobbies include playing soccer, softball and teaching robotics and programming.

Hilda

West Covina

Hilda learned how to swim at a young age and her favorite stroke is the Backstroke. She swam competitively on her high school’s varsity swim team and excelled at the 50 meter Freestyle and the 100 meter Backstroke. Hilda gained experience working with children through volunteering at an after school program and babysitting. She enjoys teaching swimming lessons because she gets to share her love of the water with her students. Hilda is currently studying Psychology at El Camino College. A fun fact about Hilda is that she loves giraffes and goats!

Inala

Pasadena

Inala began swimming at the age of five. She swam competitively for five years with the Loma Alta Swim Team in Altadena from age ten through fifteen. Once in high school, she continued to swim for three more years. One of her favorite strokes is Backstroke and her favorite event is the 50 yard Backstroke. What she enjoys most about teaching swimming lessons is teaching her students to love swimming as much as she does. Inala has been working with children for over ten years as a babysitter for her family, friends and neighbors. Some of her hobbies include swimming, going to amusement parks and hanging out with friends.

Javany

Brooklyn, NY

Javany has been swimming since the young age of three. One of her favorite strokes is Backstroke. She has been working with children for the past 5 years as a babysitter and a math tutor. What she enjoys most about teaching swimming lessons is getting to interact with her students and seeing how quickly her students are able to learn all new skills. Javany is currently attending Cal State Los Angeles where she is studying Applied Mathematics. On her free time she enjoys drawing, dancing, singing and playing a variety of sports.

Jussin

Kappoa, HI

Jussin learned how to swim as a toddler and competed on his high school’s water polo team for one year. He gained experience working with children as a babysitter for his 11 cousins. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing how happy his students are when they learn a new skill. Jussin is currently studying Psychology at Orange Coast College. A few of Jussin’s hobbies include yoga, hiking, and pretending to know how to dance.

Krystal

Eagle Rock

She has experience babysitting children ages 4-12 and also was a tutor for 2 years, where she assisted children in elementary school with their homework. Krystal began swimming at the age of six and her favorite stroke is Freestyle. She enjoys creating connections with her students and seeing their excitement once they have accomplished a goal. Krystal attends Pasadena City College to major in Nursing. In her free time she enjoys listening to music, sewing, gardening, and baking. An interesting fact about Krystal is she loves animal and insects!

Kyle B.

Temple City

He began swimming when he was 5 years old and started swimming on competitive teams at age 12. He also was on the swim and water polo teams throughout high school. Kyle’s favorite stroke is the Breaststroke and his favorite event is the IM. His experience working with children includes previously teaching swimming lessons to children ages 4 and up. Kyle’s favorite aspect of being a swim instructor is passing on the joy and fun of being in the water to his students. Kyle is currently attending Pasadena City College and is majoring in Entertainment Design. When Kyle is not working, he enjoys playing video games and watching cartoons!

Los Angeles

Leslie learned how to swim when she was ten years old and has loved the water ever since. She gained experience working with children through babysitting younger family members and assisting a kindergarten class. Her favorite thing about teaching swimming lesson is the knowledge that her students are learning a new lifesaving skill. Leslie is currently studying Psychology at Pasadena City College. A fun fact about Leslie is that she loves to bowl!

Megan

Rosemead

Megan learned how to swim at a young age and her favorite stroke is Breaststroke! She swam competitively in high school where she excelled at the 100 yard Breaststroke. Megan gained experience working with children as a recreational leader for the City of Rosemead. Her favorite thing about teaching swimming lesson is helping her students learn a life-saving skill. She is studying Early Childhood Education at Mt. San Antonio College. A fun fact about Megan is that she loves to draw!

Peter

Fortworth, Texas

Peter joins Waterworks Aquatics with 5 years’ of previous swimming instructor experience. He has been swimming since before he can remember, but became more active in his swimming development after working as a lifeguard. Butterfly is his favorite stroke. Peter has experience working with children ranging from 2 ½ years old through adults. While growing up, he enjoyed helping out his family by babysitting his baby niece and younger cousins. His favorite aspect of teaching swimming lessons is being able to help his students accomplish their goals and seeing their confidence grow.Peter is studying English Literature at St. Mary’s University. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, writing, and art. An interesting fact about Peter is that he and his friends enjoy creating comedy sketches.

Hawaii

Raven began swimming at the young age one. She has worked with children ages three through fifteen working as a camp counselor and an assistant teacher. Her favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is spending time with her students and creating a fun filled learning environment. Raven is currently attending Pasadena City College where she is studying international relations. In her free time Raven loves reading, camping, hiking and snorkeling. A fun fact about her is she loves sharks!

Sergio

Duarte

Sergio learned how to swim at the age of nine and his favorite stroke is Freestyle. He was a valued teammate of his high school’s swim team, where he specialized in the 50 yard Freestyle. Sergio spent his free time as leader of a youth bible study group, organizing educational activities and leading discussions. He is passionate about teaching swim lessons because of the knowledge that he is teaching his students an invaluable new life skill. Sergio is currently majoring in Communications and Music at Citrus College.

Stephanie has been swimming since the age of seven. At an early age, she began swimming competitively through the Norman S. Johnson swim team. She later joined her high school swim team and competed for two more years. One of her favorite strokes is Freestyle. Stephanie is currently attending California State University, Los Angeles, where she is studying Computer Information Systems. Aside from swimming, she enjoys singing and playing the ukulele.

Tevin

Los Angeles

He gained experience working with children ages 5 to 13 as a teacher’s assistant at a summer camp. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is making his students smile in the water. Tevin is currently studying Biology at Cal State University, Los Angeles. A few of Tevin’s hobbies include watching anime, going to the movies, hiking, going to the zoo, and playing video games.

Vicki

Los Angeles

Vicki has always loved the water and continues to swim whenever she gets the chance. She has a heart for children and enjoys teaching Sunday school class. She is studying at Pasadena College so that she can one day be an elementary school teacher. In her free time, Vicki love going to the beach and watching movies.
