Our swim instructors in Torrance offer students of all ages and skill level with quality hands-on instruction so they will be confident in the water. From beginner to advanced levels, our instructors strive to provide the best swim lessons possible so each student learns at just the right pace to take them to the next level of swimming.
At Waterworks, we believe swimming is an invaluable, lifelong skill that everyone should possess even at a young age. Our Torrance swim instructors are proficient in swimming, patient and highly communicative so that even the youngest students will feel at ease when they are in the water.

Allison
Allison started swimming when she was four years old and swam for her high school’s swim and water polo teams. Her favorite stroke to teach is freestyle and her favorite event is the 50 free. She has experience working as a babysitter for two years.
She is going to school at Long Beach Community College where she is studying psychology and has taken family counseling courses. Her favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast and her favorite book is 1984. She wants to encourage her students to become the best swimmers they can be.

Bianca
Bianca has been swimming since she was 5 years old and took swim lessons throughout her childhood. She competitively danced until she was 16 years old. She has experience with kids while working at a summer camp. She has a lot of knowledge of muscle memory techniques that she learned through dance.
In her free time, she enjoys video-editing, graphic design and practicing photography. She loves all kinds of sushi and her favorite animals are horses. She loves watching her students grow and wants to teach them an important life skill.

Carol
Carol has been swimming since she was 3 years old and her favorite stroke is freestyle. She has taught several friends and family members how to swim. She has worked at a daycare center at her church for 4 years.
She enjoys art, playing basketball and watching movies. Her favorite movie is Tangled and her favorite books are The Hunger Games series. She is passionate about children’s happiness and teaching them to be safe in the water.

Cherrish
Cherrish learned how to swim when she was three years old and her favorite stroke to swim is the butterfly. She swam throughout her time in the girl scouts when she was younger. She has experience working with kids with autism as a behavioral technician.
She is attending school at University of Southern California where she is studying to become a social worker. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and going out to Korean BBQ. Her favorite movie is Peter Pan and she loves cats. She wants to get her students excited about feeling free in the water.

Daiana
Daiana learned how to swim by taken swim lessons when she was younger. Her favorite stroke to swim is freestyle and her favorite stroke to teach is breaststroke. She has experience as a babysitter and worked as a playground supervisor. She spends her summers swimming at the pool, the beach and at the river.
She is going to school at Los Angeles Harbor College where she is studying political science. Her favorite character is Stitch and her favorite animals are pandas. She enjoys teaching because she likes to encourage students to achieve their goals.

David has been swimming since he was 5 years old and has been sailing his whole life. He has several sailing and lifeguarding certifications and achievements. He has experience working with kids as a sailing instructor and would often help them with their swimming technique.
He goes to school at Cal State Dominguez Hills where he is going to school to become a teacher. His hobbies include reading, writing and studying philosophy. He loves pizza and has a passion for all animals. He is excited to help his students become safer in the water.

Daydriana
Daydriana learned how to swim when she was 8 years old and swam competitively her freshman year of high school. She received the title of MVP during her time playing high school basketball. She has experience babysitting children from newborns to 12 years old.
She goes to LBCC where she is studying automation. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and taking care of her many pets. She is excited to teach her students the lifesaving skill of swimming.

Kaitlin learned to swim by taking swim lessons when she was four years old. She was on a swim team for two years and has experience with kids through babysitting. She goes to El Camino Community College where she is studying English and education. Her favorite movie is Tangled and her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice. She enjoys seeing her students grow and learn new things.

Lily
Lily began swimming when she was just two months old and has continued to love swimming ever since. She gained experience working with children as a child care supervisor, where she organized activities and ensured their safety. Her favorite part of teaching swimming lessons is helping her students feel comfortable and confident in the water. A fun fact about Lily is she loves camping, airplanes, and Star Wars.

Luke
Luke trained with the junior lifeguards for 5 years. His favorite stroke to teach is backstroke and his favorite stroke to swim is the breaststroke. In addition to swimming, he was on his high schools cross country team and ran the LA Marathon. During his time in boy scouts, he earned his lifesaving and swimming merit badges. He has worked with kids by volunteering for his church as a game counselor.
He is studying film at El Camino College. His hobbies include photography, surfing and playing video games. His favorite food is sushi and his favorite movie is Toy Story.

Mars
Mars learned how to swim when he was five years old. His favorite stroke to teach is freestyle and his favorite stroke to swim is breaststroke. He has worked as a camp counselor for a summer camp.
In his free time, he enjoys skateboarding and being with his friends. His favorite Disney character is Winnie the Pooh and his favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo. He is excited to help his students have fun in the water.

Priscilla
Priscilla learned how to swim when she was 1 years old and went on to swim competitively for her high school. In addition to swimming, she is involved in strength training and cross country. She has experience working with kids through her church by volunteering in the nursery and teaching students ages 2 – 6.
In her free time, she loves to spend time with her dog and find new places to eat. She believes swimming is an essential life skill and is excited to share her love for swimming with her students.

Rebecca
Rebecca learned how to swim when she took swim lessons at 3 years old. She swam competitively for 3 years in high school for her varsity swim team. She won 2nd place in the marine league competition for the 50 free and the 200 free relay. She has experience volunteering for the Carson aquatics association. Additionally, she has babysat for family and friends ranging in ages 3 – 10 years old.
She has a passion for film production and learning about the film industry. Her favorite movie is West Side Story and her favorite Disney princess is Ariel. She is excited to help her students achieve their swimming goals.

Sergio has been swimming since he was 3 years old. He often does ocean swim training and has swam competitively for a year. He was the captain of his school’s varsity cross country team. He has experience volunteering at elementary schools, helping students with their schoolwork. Additionally, he worked as a manager at an amusement park where he would assist children.
He goes to school at UC Irvine where he is studying biological sciences. In his free time, he enjoys running, boxing and playing tennis. He loves Pokemon and his favorite books to read are the Percy Jackson series. He is excited to help his students achieve their goals.

Victor has been swimming since he was a young child and was involved in the junior lifeguards. He was on his high school’s swim team for 3 years. His favorite stroke is backstroke and his favorite event to compete in is the 50 freestyle. He worked as a lifeguard for the City of Carson for 10 years. Additionally, he worked as a swim instructor, working with students ranging 3 to adult.
In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, building computers and reading. His favorite movie is Aladdin and his favorite animals are dogs. He is excited to see his students grow more confident in the water.
