Waterworks Aquatics is excited to partner with the Orange County Fire Authority in presenting Splashing into Summer Safety Day 2011.
This Thursday, June 30th from 10:00am – 12:00pm the Orange County Fire Authority along with other community health and safety organizations will be on site at Waterworks helping to promote water safety in Southern Orange County.
This eventful day will include a live demonstration in our outdoor pool involving both parent and paramedics performing save and rescue drills. Free Swim with toys and rafts will be available in our outdoor pool. Not only are we planning to provide a variety of activities and games for all ages to enjoy, but “Sparky the Dog” and “Stewie the Duck” will also be in attendance. The Orange County Fire Authority will be giving tours of an actual Fire Engine and children will have the chance to learn what it takes to become a firefighter. Irvine Police will have the DARE Truck available. Participants will be given the opportunity to earn wristbands, stickers, helmets, re-usable beach bags, crayons, water watcher tags, and beach balls. Parents will learn the steps necessary to secure their homes and prepare their children for a lifetime of aquatic safety.
At Waterworks we take year round water safety very seriously; playing in and around the water can be very enjoyable but it is important to know how to do so in a safe and effective manner. We would like to encourage all of our families to come out and participate in this event to learn more about how they can keep their friends and relatives safe for the summer season.
