Waterworks Aquatics, a premier swim school and aquatic center, is delighted to announce their upcoming Swim-a-thon event on Saturday, October 11th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Waterworks Aquatics will be partnering with its local Make-A-Wish chapter for this event, joining forces in raising money to grant the wishes of children who are diagnosed with life threatening medical conditions. On average, Make-A-Wish is able to grant a wish every 38 minutes nationwide.
Waterworks Aquatics anticipates over 200 participants to take a pledge for the Swim-a-thon and are welcoming any additional attendees in order to make this event as successful as possible. Although Waterworks Aquatics is expecting many adults to partake in this Swim- a-thon, they will also be tailoring the event towards all ages and skill levels for additional participation. The younger-aged children who want to participate will have a chance to raise money by floating on their back for a certain amount of time or by holding their breath underwater for as long as they are able to.
When we asked Aquatic Director Justin Discoe what hosting a Swim-a-thon with Make-A-Wish means to him, he responded, “Being able to partner with a great organization like Make-A-Wish and host a swim-a-thon at Waterworks Aquatics is significant as we can collaboratively have an impact on children in our community, outside of our everyday mission of teaching swimming, in a fun environment. This opportunity allows our company and our families to work together to make the wishes of less fortunate children become reality.”
Waterworks Aquatics is looking forward to a successful swim-a-thon event and welcomes not only participants, but all those interested in the cause. All proceeds raised from this event will benefit Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire.
