Turkey Day 5K
Waterworks Aquatics is proud to be sponsoring the 2014 Turkey Day 5K in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. With a mission of supporting a healthy economy, a healthy community and healthy individuals, the Highlands Ranch Chamber of Commerce is busy preparing for the ninth annual Turkey Trot 5K. Early registration for the event, which will start and finish at Redstone Park on Thanksgiving Day, is under way and closes Nov. 13, with the price for entering jumping the following week and near doubling on race day. Erik Bostrom, who is chairing the race committee for the third consecutive year, said roughly 2,000 runners are expected. After the race, all runners will be given goodie bags, and if they are of age and so desire they can head on over to the beer garden, which is new this year. The top three male and female runners overall and in each age division will be awarded prizes. Age divisions range from 9 and younger to 70 and older. Dogs on leashes and baby joggers are welcome, but are asked to line up at the back to not interfere with other runners. No bikes are allowed.
