Waterworks Aquatics had a blast at the Encinitas Street Fair this past weekend & Turbo met a few friends along the way! The Encinitas Street Fair and Fall Festival are located down the center of six blocks of scenic South Coast Highway 101, two blocks from the Pacific Ocean. This two-day in the Spring and one day in the fall draw crowds exceeding 100,000 and feature a booth arrangement that provides half of the vendors with two adjoining sides open to traffic, if they choose.
In the spring street fair, ongoing since 1983, international food, children’s rides, four live stages, and the craft brewery beer garden guarantee that there will be fun for the whole family. In the fall Festival, continuous since 1989, children’s rides, two stages of live entertainment and food and drink refreshments provide an attractive setting for the public and a great boon to our vendors.
The emphasis of both the Encinitas Street fair and the Fall Festival is on arts, handmade crafts, antiques, and ethnic imports. However, commercial vendors will be accepted and admitted upon consideration of merchandise and display appearance. The Encinitas Street fair has a pleasant atmosphere. While many people attend the fair, plenty of room is available along the route move about. People can walk there dogs, push their children's strollers, browse through the booths, without feeling crammed in a small space, thus making for a pleasant, easygoing atmosphere. Also lending to the pleasant atmosphere is the laid-back, yet lively downtown feeling, and lack of any nearby traffic, except at the ends of the route.
In addition, plenty of food vendors, restaurants and cafes are available to grab a tasty meal or snack. While at the fair, you won't be able to help but notice the offbeat, trendy stores and restaurants, along Coast Hwy, that make up the Encinitas historic downtown, where you'll find several sidewalk cafes, restaurants, boutiques, new & used clothing stores, and specialty shops. Many of the buildings that house the shops and restaurants are from the early 20th century. The street fair is only a few blocks from Moonlight State Beach, a wide, sandy, family friendly beach, with a children's playground, restrooms and a pleasant atmosphere. A life guard is on duty everyday through the year.
